Runway 13L/31R (Parallel to Lemmon) closure will begin on August 5 and tentatively last approximately 85 days, concluding on October 29. Runway 13L/31R Runway Safety Area Improvements & Rehabilitation of Taxiway A, aims to correct runway safety area (RSA) deficiencies with comprehensive RSA grading and the installation of new drainage infrastructure along the Taxiway A side of the runway. This initiative addresses critical safety-related improvements within the RWY 13L/31R safety area and resolves an existing hot spot at the north end of Taxiway A.
The engine runup area is currently not being utilized due to the cross-field construction project. Large aircraft will use Taxiway T for engine runups, and all other aircraft will use
Taxiway P. The engine runup area is planned to reopen in Fall 2024.
Both noise monitors DAL-03 and DAL-04 are currently experiencing technical issues. We are currently working to address the issues.
As of June 28, 2022, Runway 13R/31L is open and operational. Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) will return to dual runway operations.

DAL-01 Noise Monitor at Dallas Love Field has been installed and started measuring noise. After passing testing, it is now being used to obtain reports on airport noise and aircraft noise events. The data collected is sent to the City of Dallas and its residents around the airport. This is the last Noise Monitor scheduled to be installed.
The masts for three new Noise Monitors around Dallas Love Field were mounted on their foundations around the airport. Installation of the solar powered systems will follow shortly.
The first DRAFT design version of DAL Noise Lab was released to provide airport staff and interested community members an impression of what is to come.
